Employee-owners from Ag Express Electronics packaged nearly 2500 meals during Meals from the Heartland’s Annual Hunger Fight Event.

Des Moines, IA - August 30th, 2019 - Ag Express Electronics’ employee-owners volunteered August 29th and 30th for the 12th Annual Meals from the Heartland Hunger Fight. This four-day event was held at Hy-Vee Hall, in Des Moines to package a goal of four million meals to feed hungry people in Iowa, throughout the U.S., and around the world.

The event was an ideal fit for Ag Express Electronics because of its connection to the agriculture industry and its impact locally and globally. Company President, Craig Murphy, helped his group prepare over 1,500 meal packs during their two-hour shift. “This is just a great event to get the majority of our employees engaged in community service. It is also a good way to get to know fellow employees in a non-work setting,” Mr. Murphy commented.

During the two shifts, Ag Express volunteers prepared nearly 2500 hearty meal packs and are anxious to beat that total next time! The response from the participants after the event was overwhelmingly positive.

“Working with Meals from the Heartland is always a fulfilling experience. Their organization and approach to packaging is highly efficient and really maximizes volunteers’ time.”
James H., Employee-Owner

“I’ve wanted to participate in this event for some time and was very happy when Ag Express extended us the opportunity. This experience was both fun and rewarding.”
Sharon D., Employee-Owner
